The Giants traded Pierre-Paul to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the offseason. The former Miami football star defensive lineman will now step in the number 90. McIntosh was drafted by the Giants in the fifth round of this year’s NFL draft.
McIntosh heads to Giants franchise with a history of stars on the defensive line. Most of those standouts played defensive end in a 4-3 defense.
The Giants are returning to a 3-4 defense this season. New York previously had success in a 3-4 in the Bill Parcells era with Bill Belichick as the Defensive Coordinator in the 1980s and early 1990s.
