According to Hernandez’s lawyer, Jason Setchen, to the WatchStadium.com, Hernandez’s eligibility appeal to the NCAA was denied.
Setchen was hired in December to help Hernandez in his legal battle with the NCAA, having also helped UM basketball player DeQuan Jones in light of the Nevin Shapiro Scandal in 2012.
Hernandez is believed to have had sufficient enough conversation with agent Christian Dawkins to be ineligible for competition in the NCAA.
Hernandez’s ruling leaves Miami stranded with just seven scholarship players, following the redshirting of junior Rodney Miller and the injury to Deng Gak.
