Big state of Florida presence on 2019 College Football HOF ballot

Close to a dozen former college players and coaches from schools in the state of Florida were among those listed on the 2019 College Football Hall of Fame ballot.

The ballot was released by the National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame Monday.

Miami’s Ray Lewis and Dan Morgan were joined by Florida’s Lomas Brown and Florida State’s Terrell Buckley. Dennis Erickson, who coached Miami to two national titles (1989, 1991), also was among the candidates for consideration from the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Four UCF players — Bernard Ford, Ed O’Brien, Charlie Pierce and David Rhodes — made the cut.
