Batista's RBI in the 9th sends Miami back to Super Regionals

This game had seemingly a little bit of everything for the Hurricanes.

A blown lead. A feisty opponent. Some well-timed big hits and ultimately, more late-inning magic.

For the third time in as many games in the NCAA Tournament, the Hurricanes found themselves having to rally and this time, it was a walk-off, ninth-inning single from Randy Batista that scored Chris Barr and lifted Miami to a 9-8 win over Long Beach State, giving the Hurricanes their 29th regional championship.

“I didn’t think it could get any more dramatic than last night,” Miami coach Jim Morris said, referring to the Hurricanes 4-3 11-inning win over Long Beach State on Saturday.
