Back to the Future: Hurricanes and Irish play five times from 2028-37

Miami and Notre Dame discontinued their (mostly) annual series after things got heated during the 1980s. After Miami lost in South Bend in 1990, the two teams didn’t play again until meeting in the 2010 Sun Bowl.

Since then, the two teams have played twice — once in the 2012 Shamrock Series game at Soldier Field in Chicago and again, in South Bend, last season.

Miami hasn’t beaten the Irish since a 27-10 victory in the Orange Bowl in 1989 knocked Notre Dame from atop the polls and helped the Hurricanes win their third national title in the 1990 Sugar Bowl.
