Through the first week of spring practice in the Manny Diaz era at Miami, there has been lots of energy, a renewed sense of optimism and lots of competition as the Hurricanes try to prove themselves to a new staff.
There have also been errant passes, missed assignments, struggles to learn a new playbook and lots of the mistakes that often crop up early in the process of building a team and trying to find an identity.
And Diaz isn’t bothered by any of it. Instead, he’s embraced the fact his players have been pushed out of their comfort zone.
