Jonathan Garvin had a breakout season for the Miami football team in 2018. He was more than a complementary player to second-team All-American defensive tackle Gerald Willis and defensive end Joe Jackson last season. Willis led Miami defensive linemen with 60 tackles and was second with 17 tackles for loss and five sacks.
The Hurricanes defensive line will have a new look in 2019 with Willis and Jackson moving on. Graduate transfer Trevon Hill is likely to be the other starter at defensive end. Hill was off to an incredible start last season at Virginia Tech before missing all but three games.
