Jonathan Patke has been on the coaching staff for the Miami football program since former head coach Mark Richt took over for the 2016 season. Patke spent his first two years with the Hurricanes as a defensive quality control analyst.
Patke previously worked as a graduate assistant under head coach Manny Diaz who was the defensive coordinator.at Mississippi State in 2015. He was initially elevated to the co-defensive coordinator at Miami with safeties coach Ephraim Banda when Diaz initially left Temple 17 days before returning to Coral Gables.
Diaz fired the entire Miami offensive coaching staff that included tight ends and special teams coach Todd Hartley less than 24 hours after being hired.
