Burns was the 28th ranked running back nationally in the Class of 2017 according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He was the 449th ranked player overall and 58th in Florida coming out of high school. A lot of recruiting analysts were high on Burns potential when he signed with the Miami football program.
Burns faces an uphill climb to get carries at halfback this season. He is currently listed fourth on the depth chart. Being behind veterans, Junior starter Travis Homer and Sophomore DeeJay Dallas plus five-star Freshman Lorenzo Lingard it’s tough to see a path that allows Burns to have meaningful snaps at halfback.
