After a 2016 season in which he missed expectations, Sheldrick Redwine will likely be a key piece to Miami’s 2017 secondary. No longer a cornerback, Redwine will compete in fall camp for a starting role at the safety position.
Coming out of Miami-Killian High School in 2015, Redwine was recruited to be a large, physical college cornerback with the athletic potential to become a top flight player. Thus far, Redwine has been mostly a rotational piece at corner earning five career starts and 42 total tackles in his first two years. For the most part, he’s been stuck scooping up minutes behind NFL caliber players like Tracy Howard, Corn Elder, and Adrian Colbert.
