Steed begins the 2018 season as a Redshirt Freshman and the third-string weakside or WILL linebacker. He is behind Junior Michael Pinckney and Senior Mike Smith. Steed seems to be learning quickly. He was voted the Miami Football team’s most improved linebacker this spring.
Steed is hoping to become as successful at Miami as his high school teammate and classmate at Miami Central Navaughn Donaldson. Donaldson was named a True Freshman All-American by ESPN as a right guard in 2017.
Steed could be an important contributor on special teams this season. The Miami football staff is going to want to start grooming the backup linebackers this season and getting them on the field.
