Three-star DE Joshua Uche (Miami, FL) announced his commitment to the Miami Hurricanes in March, but has since picked up offers from Alabama and Florida. While Uche isn’t necessarily wavering on that commitment, Al Golden and the coaching staff wanted to get him back in Coral Gables to reinforce what Miami can offer him.
"I went out to see more of the education side with Miami and what they have to offer," Uche said, via 247sports. "I didn't know too much about it but I figured they would touch upon that during 'U' Day. My dad came and I think he had some questions about academics too. They explained the value of their degree as far as just money and then what you could do with it. They talked about how difficult it is to make it in the door coming out of high school. They touched on a lot of different ways you can go with classes once you get there."
Uche also got to take in a practice, and left impressed.
"I like how they showed spurts of energy throughout the different drills," Uche said. "Music was playing and guys were dancing which created a great atmosphere. I watched the defense and I can see myself being part of it already. I can come in and know it's really nothing new.
“I'm interested to keep up with the young guys that came in this year and if they can make big plays right away. The future will be pretty bright if that happens. I hope they come up with a great season but I haven't thought about it a lot. I guess I'll wait and see how I feel once it's over with."
