The Heat, which has tried unsuccessfully for months to make a trade to thin its roster and its payroll, has completed a trade to send Tyler Johnson to Phoenix a day before the NBA’s trade deadline, ESPN reported Wednesday.
In return, the Heat receives forward Ryan Anderson a 6-10 perimeter shooting power forward, who is actually due more money than Johnson.
Anderson is due $20.4 million this season and $21.2 million next season. He’s averaging 3.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 15 games, including eight starts.
Johnson is owed $19. 3 million this season and next season, and the Suns also must pay a $3.
