Shane Battier will remain with the Heat after dropping out of the running for a position in the Pistons’ front office.
Shane Battier had been in the running for a front office position with the Detroit Pistons, after Stan Van Gundy left the team. Battier was approached by the Pistons prior to their hiring of Ed Stefanski from the Grizzlies to run their front office. According to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel, if chosen for the job, Battier would have served directly under Stefanski.
NBA source confirms that Shane Battier will remain with the Heat, will not move forward with the Pistons, who are filling out their front office.
