The Miami Heat are planning to sign center Keith Benson, the 48th selection in the 2011 NBA draft. The Heat already have a full frontcourt and they are likely signing Benson with the plan to add depth to their D-League affiliate. From Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel:

"Pending completion of a physical this week, Benson is expected to be signed to a non-guaranteed contract for training camp, an agreement that would then allow the Heat to include Benson among players who could be directly assigned to their NBA Development League affiliate if cut during training camp.
