A new report indicates that the Miami Heat will try to sign Kevin Durant next summer.
The Heat want to use the rising salary cap to lure Durant to Miami and form a new big three, the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson wrote Saturday.
Jackson notes that the bid is a “long-shot,” and that such a move would likely force Miami to part ways with Hassan Whiteside and get Dwyane Wade to leave some money on the table as he has before. Trading Josh McRoberts is another way the team could clear space for the salary Durant would command.
