The Miami Heat are working on a buy out agreement with backup point guard Beno Udrih, reports Shams Charania of Yahoo!’s The Vertical. Udrih suffered an injury to his foot a week ago and underwent season ending surgery.
The Heat are once again looking for luxury tax relief. The recent signing of Joe Johnson put them over the luxury tax line, and Miami wants to avoid a potential repeater tax penalty in the future.
The Heat approached Udrih’s representatives late last week about a possible buyout and discussions progressed over the weekend, sources said.
