Personality. Hate. Catchphrases. Hand gestures. Dirty. Intense. Funny – All words that can be used to describe a great heel in professional wrestling. Sure, they need the in-ring skill, but that’s barely half the battle. Although rare, a heel can get over without stepping foot in the ring (see: Heyman, Paul), but how they work a crowd is far more important. Make no mistake about it: getting legitimately over as a heel is a talent, perhaps even more difficult than the in-ring action.
