P.J. Tucker suffered a right groin strain in the first half of the Miami Heat’s preseason opener against the Atlanta Hawks Monday night. The 2021 NBA champion didn’t play the entire second half. In my recap of the game, I wrote that I hoped it wasn’t an early sign of an injury-riddled season for the 36-year old.
It seems like Tucker’s injury isn’t serious.
Tucker practiced today with the Miami Heat, but Erik Spoelstra didn’t say whether he will play on the team’s upcoming road trip. Miami will visit the Houston Rockets, where Tucker played from 2017 to 2021, tomorrow and then the San Antonio Spurs Friday night.
