The Miami Heat have signed forward Yante Maten, it was announced today before their early game against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
Maten was originally signed to a two-way contract on July 29 and has split time this season with the Heat and their G-League affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce, where he earned All-NBA G League Second Team and NBA G League All-Rookie Team honors. In 30 starts, Maten averaged a team-leading 23.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.03 blocks and 32.7 minutes while shooting 53.8 percent from the field.
