The Miami Heat inked free agent big man Amar’e Stoudemire on Friday, the team announced.
The six-time NBA All-Star signed a one-year, $1.4 million contract according to the AP.
“We are very fortunate that a proven All-Star like Amar’e has chosen the Miami Heat,” Heat President Pat Riley said. “He is going to bring gravitas, leadership and a hardworking mentality to our team as we look to win another Championship in Miami.”
He split last season between the Knicks and Mavericks, appearing in 59 games, averaging 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 21.1 minutes on 56-percent shooting from the field.
