On draft night a couple months ago, the Miami Heat were pleasant surprised to have Justise Winslow fall to them with the No. 10 pick. A player with his intensity and grit, along with his winning pedigree (coming off a national championship at Duke), would figure prominently in the Heat present and future. There was even some chatter of him being an immediate starter, as the possibility of Loul Deng opting out was on the table.
Then, the offseason happened.
Deng opted in. Dwyane Wade re-signed. Tyler Johnson had already figured to play a bigger role for the team, based on his performance last season.
