Miami Heat Part Ways With Michael Beasley

The Miami Heat will not be picking up the option of Michael Beasley‘s contract, according to the Miami Herald. Beasley was due to make about $1.3 million if his contract were to be picked up.

According to the report, the Heat indicated to Beasley Saturday night that drafting Justise Winslow, who plays the same small forward position as Beasley, was a major factor in the decision. The Heat won’t be looking to re-sign him to a smaller deal.

Beasley seems to have confirmed the report by posting a picture on Instagram saying “Goodbye Miami, Florida.
