Days after it was reported that the Miami Heat were signing free agent center Willie Reed, the team has made it official with a short press release Wednesday.
Reed, who played for the Brooklyn Nets last season after impressing many with his energy and hustle playing for Miami's Summer League squad, will serve as the back-up for newly re-signed center Hassan Whiteside. Though contract details were not disclosed by the team, it's been widely reported that it's a two-year deal for the veteran's minimum at slightly more than $1 million this season, with the second season a player option.
