It will be GIFed, Vined, Youtubed, and tweeted. As it should, because it was all kinds of nasty. But what should be ultimately taken from the 19-year-old’s debut are the little things. Things that don’t always show in a box score or highlight reel.
Things such as defending three different positions on defense — from bigs to wings to the point guard. Things like keeping the offense flowing by moving the ball and not letting it stick. Things like being in the right spot on defense for what appeared to be a heavy majority of the time.
Yes it’s a one-game sample in a season of 82 against a Hornets team that probably will lose more games than they win, but the poise Winslow showed from the second he popped his NBA cherry was remarkable.
