How the Wizards game plan allowed them to barely squeak by the Heat in overtime

The Washington Wizards could have easily lost the game to the Miami Heat due to a 5-second violation non-call late in the game (another example to allow NFL-style challenges in the NBA).

Whatever, it took more than a single touch among the Wizards’ 497 touches to douse the Heat in game that could have easily gone either way.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but among the factors Miami where failed to execute well was the seven missed free throws, 24 missed 3-point attempts, plus dealing with Washington’s well-run game plan.

The Wizards knew their starting backcourt could outscore the Heat’s, which they did 49-32, and soundly outplay them while on the court, which they also did +36 versus -32.
