MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat added some depth to their backcourt on Wednesday as the team prepares for its first season without Dwyane Wade since 2002.
The Heat announced that they have re-signed point guard Beno Udrih to a one-year deal.
Udrih was acquired last November along with Jarnell Stokes when Miami shipped off Mario Chalmers and James Ennis to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Last season Udrih averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 assists in 36 games with the Heat.
He had season-ending surgery in February after suffering a tear in his right foot.
Miami ended up buying out Udrih’s contract after the injury in order to get under the luxury-tax threshold but the 34-year-old was open about his desire to return to the Heat.
