Heat begin search for new TV commentator

Related Topics: Tony Fiorentino

You may remember that this season will serve as the last for Tony Fiorentino in the TV booth. The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reported today that the Miami Heat have begun their search for a successor. Jackson said that current Heat radio analyst John Crotty will be in the running.

Although he spent just one season with the Heat during his playing days, Crotty has provided commentary for radio games since the 2004-05 season. That season — the 59-win team that featured a motivated Shaquille O’Neal and an emerging superstar in Dwyane Wade — was also the first season Fiorentino joined the Heat’s broadcasting team.
