The Miami Heat today have announced that former point guard and current radio analyst John Crotty will assume the role of color TV analyst starting next season.
In a somewhat surprising move, the Heat had already revealed that longtime analyst Tony Fiorentino was leaving the broadcast booth that he shared for many years alongside fellow Heat Lifer Eric Reid and that a search for his replacement was ongoing.
Crotty played for the Heat during the 1996-97 season and quickly became a fan favorite and would go on to rejoin the franchise as their radio analyst in 2005.
