Despite leading the NBA with 14.1 rebounds while averaging 2.1 blocks and setting a career high with 57 steals this season, Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside finished short in the voting for the 2016-17 NBA All-Defensive Team.
Whiteside totaled 25 points, including one First Team vote, well behind the 58 total points Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans received as the center for the All-Defensive Second Team.
In contrast to the All-Rookie Team voting, those who vote for the All-Defensive Team must select two guards, two forwards and a center for each team.
