Hassan Whiteside: From D-League to NBA max-contract player

Hassan Whiteside was a second-round pick of the Sacramento Kings in the 2011 NBA draft and out of the NBA two years and 20 games later. He played in the NBA’s Development League, as well as in Lebanon and China, from 2012 to 2014.

On Friday, Whiteside agreed to a max contract with the Miami Heat for four-years and $98 million, according to The Associated Press.

The numbers not only suggest Whiteside could be the most effective true center in the NBA, but that he also could be a historically good defensive presence.
