Miami Heat generally aren’t in the mix when discussing young teams in the NBA, or in Miami’s instance, the Eastern Conference.
Yet in their latest iteration the average age of the Miami Heat starters, 24.4, trails only the New York Knicks, 23.2, and Atlanta Hawks, in youthfulness of the starting five.
The surprising number comes from the fact their oldest starters, Kelly Olynyk and Dion Waiters, are only 27 years of age, as of today, while most other teams have starters 30 years-old and over.
The Milwaukee Bucks have three starters 27 and over, the Toronto Raptors four of them, while the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers have only one starter under 25 years of age.
