Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr is no stranger to the effects of gun violence. His father, Malcolm H. Kerr, was shot and killed in Beirut in 1984 while Kerr was a freshman at the University of Arizona. That experience has led Kerr to speak out publicly numerous times about gun violence and the need for gun control.
On Wednesday, he did so again after he hosted students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School at Warriors practice prior to the team’s game against the Miami Heat. Kerr spoke to the students and afterwards with reporters, once again reiterating the need for change in the country’s gun laws.
