Gerald Green is switching teams once again, signing a one-year contract Saturday for the veteran's minimum with the Boston Celtics, who selected him No. 18 overall in the 2005 NBA Draft.
Green had an up-and-down year with the Miami Heat last season, bringing athleticism and an improved focus on defense off the bench behind Dwyane Wade but was largely ineffective because of a prolonged shooting slump, particularly from long range, and uneven play.
With the rapid development of rookies Justise WInslow and Josh Richardson along with the rise of Tyler Johnson, there was less of a need for Green over the course of the season and his minutes, and his place in the rotation, fluctuated as a result.
