Former Miami Heat backup center Willie Reed was jailed early Sunday on a domestic-violence charge.
Miami-Dade jail records show Reed, 27, who signed with the Los Angeles Clippers last month, was still in jail as on 7:30 a.m. He was charged with misdemeanor battery.
Details about the alleged crime were not immediately available and it was unclear where he was arrested.
Reed, who was not drafted after turning pro in 2011, proved a capable backup to Miami Heat star center Hassan Whiteside, especially during the team’s strong second-half performance. He averaged 5.3 points and 4.
