The state Department of Health reported 33,193 people have had COVID-19 since the outbreak began. That figure includes an increase of 347 diagnoses from a day earlier.
The total number of Florida deaths, 1,218, is up by 47 from Tuesday. Miami-Dade County had a one-day increase of 14 deaths, most in the state.
Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties account for 698 deaths, which is an increase of 22 deaths over Tuesday, the state data shows.
The three South Florida counties have had a total of 19,736 people diagnosed with the disease, making it the hardest hit region in the state.
