There’s been another uptick in the number of people testing positive for the new coronavirus, and dying from COVID-19, across Florida, according to the latest state data released Thursday.
It shows that 33,690 people have been infected since the outbreak began. That figure includes an increase of 497 diagnoses from Wednesday. The previous day saw 347 new cases.
The total number of state deaths, 1,268, includes a one-day increase of 50. There were 47 deaths added to the list a day earlier.
Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties have had a total of 19,659 people diagnosed with the disease, making it the hardest hit region in the state.
