It’s mid-August, and Dwyane Wade still hasn’t announced whether he’ll retire from his NBA career. Some have speculated that Wade may play basketball in China or rejoin his former teammate LeBron James and sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Wade quashed those rumors when he spoke to the media at the Jr. NBA Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. He said, “Heat only. If I play the game of basketball this year, it’ll be in a Miami uniform.”
Wade also said that he has plenty of time to decide whether to return, noting that he’s not negotiating a long-term contract at this stage of his career.
