Derrick Jones Jr. rejoined the Miami Heat after a 21 point, 17 rebound games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Incidentally, the Heat could use both of their two-way contract players, Derrick Jones Jr. and Derrick Walton Jr., for the remainder of NBA schedule once the regular G-League season ends tomorrow night, March 24th.
Jones Jr. had an impressive night versus the Iowa Wolves with 21 points, 17 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 30 minutes of action.
Neither Jones Jr., Walton Jr. have yet to prove they’re NBA rotation players, but as the season winds and games against teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks loom ahead, they offer some wiggle room to avoid unnecessary injuries to Miami’s rotation players.
