MIAMI, FL – Miami HEAT Forward, Luol Deng, and the Luol Deng Foundation announced today his efforts to address the humanitarian crisis currently affecting millions of people in his native country of South Sudan. Deng and the Luol Deng Foundation have created a crowd funding campaign with a set goal of $100,000 to be donated to The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in support of UNICEF’s emergency response with a focus on alleviating food insecurity and malnutrition in South Sudan. Deng will match the first $50,000 in funds raised by the community. The crowd funding campaign will run through the end of April.
