With the highly anticipated 2023 NBA Draft now over to officially kickstart the offseason, the Miami Heat are now on deck to address questions surrounding their roster notwithstanding their recent Finals appearance.
Fortunately, while only in possession of a singular draft pick, the front office managed to secure a solid piece in UCLA standout Jaime Jaquez Jr. with their 18th selection. Not to be left behind, the team also struck summer league deals with undrafted rookies — Washington State’s Justin Powell, Marist’s Patrick Gardner, Utah State’s Taylor Funk, Villanova’s Caleb Daniels, and USC’s Drew Peterson.

That being said, while the Heat have indisputably been the league’s best at finding undrafted gems, they would be foolish to reckon that their draft additions would be enough to take them over the hump next season.
