Bosh has been out since the All-Star break in February with a calf injury, but blood clots were found in the leg, forcing him to go on blood thinners. Last year, Bosh was forced to end his season early after blood clots formed in his lungs.
Team officials initially Bosh to go on blood thinners immediately and sit out for the remainder of the season, yet Bosh wanted to wait to see if he could return for the postseason saying he leg clots weren't as serious as the lung clots.
Bosh averaged 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds in 53 games this season. Miami went 19-10 without Bosh in the second half of the clinching, clinching the Southeast Division title and the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
They will host the Charlotte Hornets in Game 1 of their first-round series on Sunday at 5:30 pm ET.
