There have been plenty of rumors swirling around the Miami Heat and potential trades this season. The Heat haven't pulled the trigger on a deal yet, but that could change as we head towards Thursday's trade deadline. Dwight Howard seems to be at the center of a few of them, although it remains to be seen if the Heat actually make a move for the well-traveled center.
There's also the matter of Chris Bosh, as he will visit doctors Thursday to check out another blood clot in his leg. His health issues could impact the team's deadline plans. With that in mind, here are three trades the Heat could make before the deadline:
Heat & Rockets
Heat Get: Dwight Howard
Rockets Get: Hassan Whiteside, Loul Deng & Goran Dragic
This report comes from Frank Isola of the New York Daily News. He reports the Heat and Rockets have discussed a possible swap centered on Dwight Howard for Hassan Whiteside. Loul Deng and Goran Dragic are the two players most likely to go to Houston to balance out the money side, thanks to their contracts. Plus, Houston wanted to land Dragic in the past. Zach Lowe of ESPN reports the Heat could want Trevor Ariza too, which might be a deal-breaker. With both teams so tight on money, this one might not work.
Heat, Rockets & Hawks
Heat Get: Al Horford & Jeff Teague
Rockets Get: Hassan Whiteside, Chris Andersen & Goran Dragic
Hawks Get: Dwight Howard
This one stems from Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 in Houston, and needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Take that report with a grain of salt, along with the one that says the Hawks also want Justice Winslow in the trade. It seems very unlikely that the Heat would actually give up Winslow in any trade. If the Hawks don't back off their alleged stance, this one isn't going to get done. For more Heat rumors, download the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app.
Heat & Nuggets
Heat Get: Randy Foye
Nuggets Get: ?
Lowe reports the Heat have interest in landing Randy Foye, but there's one issue with that type of deal. The Heat have been trying to move Chris Andersen and/or Jarnell Stokes in a deal, but neither player's money numbers match up with Foye's. So the Heat could try sending Andersen for Foye and good old Mike Miller, but it's unclear if Nuggets would have any interest in that.
