The NBA Finals are over, but the Miami Heat turned their focus to the offseason several weeks ago. The draft is just a few days away and the Heat are also preparing the start of free agency on July 1. With cap space and uncertainty about who will actually be on the roster next year, it's not a surprise there are plenty of rumblings around the Heat. Here are all the latest Heat rumors and news you need to know.
LeBron's Return?
James and the Cavs haven't even been champions for 24 hours, and yet there's speculation that he could leave the Cavaliers this offseason.
“From what I’ve been told, the Lakers and Heat are possiblities as a destination for LeBron James this summer.”

- Stephen A. Smith
After finally delivering on his promise to win a title for Cleveland, even Adrian Wojnarowski thinks James could up and leave again. While the lure of reuiniting with friend Dwyane Wade is there (and the awesome weather), it seems unlikely for James to leave the city he loves. After all, the Cavs are fresh off an NBA Championship and in a position to make several finals in the coming years. Plus, James' recents comments that his secret motivation comes from somebody with the Heat telling LeBron he was making the biggest mistake of his career won't bode well for the Heat's chances.
Winslow Wants To Be The Face Of The Heat?
Although Wade and Bosh are still on the roster, Justise Winslow wants to eventually be the face of the Heat.
"Yeah, definitely. Growing up, that was something I always wanted," Winslow told the Miami Herald. "And being part of an organization that over the past 10, 13 years has sort of been built around one guy, it's just something to look forward to. I know there's a lot of work to be done. I'm not sure what team it will be with, hopefully with Miami, but eventually I would want to be a franchise guy, a leader on a team and the guy that the organization kind of builds around."
Winslow is just 20 years old and showed promise last year. He's better on defense than he is offense at this point, but did average 6.4 points on less than six shot attempts per game last year.
Miami's Free Agent Camp
It wasn't announced, but the Heat held a free agent camp last week, reports the Miami Herald. Ten players in total were invited, including Rodney McGruder, who played on the Heat's D-League team this year. Also in attendance was Juwan Howard Jr., the son of the Heat assistant coach and former FSU forward Xavier Gibson. The players might not make the Heat's final roster, but they could be choices for the team's summer league team.
