Dwyane Wade picked up the $23.8 million player option on his contract with the Chicago Bulls for the upcoming season, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's going to play the full season with them.
Chicago is just starting a rebuilding process after trading Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves, though Wade picked up his player option just days before that trade was made. The two sides have continued to discuss a buyout since, which could lead to a reunion with the Miami Heat.
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, but Heat would be interested in bringing Wade back to Miami - but only for the right price.
While the Heat had no interest in bringing back Wade on a big-money deal, there likely would be Heat interest in Wade at a lower salary. Miami's level of interest would depend, in part, on need at the time.
Miami is loaded at guard, with five veteran players, but has not ruled out a Wade return at some point.
The Bulls have insisted that they have no plans to buy out Wade's contract in hopes that he will serve as a mentor for their young roster.
The 35-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent after the season, but it's far from a guarantee that he goes back to Miami. Chat Sports reported last week that Wade wants to sign with the Lakers whenever he hits the open market.
Wade averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game last season.
