Thanks to a first half in which they shot 74.4 percent, the Miami Heat held a 72-60 lead over the Charlotte Hornets and never gave it up. The Heat picked up a 115-103 win over Hornets to take a 2-0 series lead.
It was a 16-point lead with just over seven minutes to play, but the Hornets didn't give up. They cut the lead to seven with under three minutes to play, but couldn't complete the comeback.
The difference in 3-point shooting was a major factor in the Miami win. The Heat were 9 of 16 from beyond the arc, while the Hornets were just 1 of 16.
Five different Heat players had at least 14 points. Dwyane Wade had a wonderful game, dropping 28 points and recording eight assists. It's the 100th time he's reached 20 points in a playoff game. Hassan Whiteside had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Goran Dragic had 18 points, four assists and no turnovers.
