It was another back and forth contest between the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat in Game 4, but it was the Heat made the plays they needed to down the stretch to earn the 94-87 overtime victory - the third overtime game in this series. The series is now tied 2-2.
The game was virtually tied throughout until Miami closed the second quarter on a 9-0 run, giving them a 44-35 lead at the break.
However, Toronto immediately responded after the intermission, going on a 17-4 run at the start of the third to put themselves right back in the game. The Raptors then took the lead for good with an 11-1 run in the fourth to go up by nine.
They held the lead until there were 12.6 seconds left in the game, when Dwyane Wade hit a layup to tie the game 83-83, forcing the overtime period. Joe Johnson scored the first four points of OT, and Miami never looked back as they held on for the win.
Toronto was limited poor shooting from their star backcourt (again). Kyle Lowry (10 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, four steals) and DeMar DeRozan (seven points) combined to shoot 6/28 in this one.
Terrence Ross and Cory Joseph came off the bench to lead the way for the Raptors with 14 points apiece, while Bismack Biyombo added 13 points and 13 rebounds while starting for the injured Jonas Valanciunas.
Miami won despite shooting just 1/15 (6.7 percent) from three-point range in this one. Wade scored a team-high 30 points to move into 13th place on the NBA's all-time postseason scoring list, passing Magic Johnson. Joe Johnson also contributed 15 points.
Game 5 will be in Toronto on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm ET on TNT.
