In another edition of today's trending Heat news, one sports columnist believes that Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra could lock down a spot in the Basketball Hall of Fame with a victory in the 2014 NBA Finals.
According to Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated, these next couple weeks could go a long way in deciding Erik Spoelstra's legacy:
If the Heat win this series, Erik Spoelstra is a lock for the Basketball HOF in my opinion. And he might be in already.
— Richard Deitsch (@richarddeitsch) June 6, 2014
With a fourth straight NBA Finals appearance under his belt, Deitsch may be very well correct to assume that Spoelstra could already have a case for enshrinement.
However, a third straight NBA title (with two of them coming against legendary San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich) might completely seal the deal for Spoelstra.
Be sure to give us your thoughts on coach Spoelstra's place in history in the comments.
