McRoberts has played for five teams since his two-year stint at Duke - the Heat will be his sixth. The Bobcats were the first team where McRoberts saw extended minutes, and he averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 78 starts in 2013-14 (previously, he had started more than 50 games just once - with Indiana in 2010-11).
Heat president Pat Riley will meet with LeBron James early this week to go over free agency strategy, and he now has some positive news to bring to the table. The Heat's lack of frontcourt depth was a major factor in their finals loss to San Antonio, and this signing shows the team is serious about addressing their issues this summer - a major factor in LeBron's upcoming decision.
