The Miami Heat went 3-0 in the first week of the 2014-15 NBA season, thanks in large part to what Chris Bosh has done to help the fan base forget about a certain former King who decided on a different palace.
The NBA took notice, naming Bosh the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for just the second time since Bosh joined the Heat back in 2010.
Per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, "Bosh also was the most recent Heat player to be named Player of the Week, when he was cited for the period ending Dec. 29, 2013. It is the ninth time Bosh has been named Player of the Week, including his career-opening tenure with the Toronto Raptors."
This also marks the 51st time in the franchise's 27-season history that a player has been awarded this honor.
Bosh finished the week averaging 25.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.33 steals in 36.7 minutes per game. He has been markedly more aggressive in LeBron's absence, relishing his role as the offense's focal point on the East's last undefeated team in 2014-15.
